Someone Face-slapped Me with the 7/7/7 Challenge Glove

So Brent tagged me for the 7/7/7 challenge, where you go to page 7 of your WIP, navigate to the 7th line, and then grab the next 7 lines and post them on your BLOG. You then tag 7 other authors to do the same. Here we go:

I took out my phone and pulled-up my map of Major Bartlin. I zoomed-in on Mountain View Road–which was a weird street name since we didn’t have any mountains to view–and found Mrs. Craig’s house in the northwest part of town. “I haven’t seen a single ghost in a year,” I said and marked the location with a green checkmark, just like I’d done for a dozen other spots.

“Oh,” my mom said, glancing at me and then back at the road. “Isn’t that good, though? “You don’t want people to be haunted, right?”

Friday Morning FYI – 8/28/2015

Welcome to your Friday Morning FYI – my chance to share observations/wisdom/rants in short, easily consumed form.

This week’s FYI comes from Will Smith. Yes, the Will Smith who did ‘After Earth’. I know. But he posted this to Facebook a few days ago, and it rings true:

The only sustainable relationship between two people is one in which both of you Individually reach for your Higher Selves. If someone is not willing to reach for the greatest, most Awesome, Loving & Productive version of themselves, you must lovingly move on – leaving them behind – trusting them to find their own way.

Thanks Will (and ‘After Earth’ wasn’t that bad).

Friday Morning FYI – 8/21/2015

Welcome to your Friday Morning FYI – my chance to share observations/wisdom/rants in short, easily consumed form.

This week’s FYI comes from a pleasant reflection on a recent but feels-long-ago event:

Reciprocation is not inspiration. When someone does something nice for you, don’t just return the gesture, let it inspire you to something greater.
