Writers, try to read like a reader, not a writer. Yes, this is harder than it sounds, but is especially important when self-editing, and when another writer asks you to look at their work.

This week’s FYI is dedicated to a fella’ I met last weekend and the 15 minutes of my life he ate while rambling about something no one at the table cared about (or believed).

Listen to and respect people who never force information but will answer questions when asked. Ignore people who stand uninvited in front of a room and scream what they “know”.
